About Diane

Biography
It has been my privilege to serve as the Chair for the past year. We have strengthened relationships with the House and Senate Democrats, hired municipal and legislative directors, and ran one of the most extensive GOTV programs in UDP history.
Accomplishments
Before serving as Party Chair, I was the Business Manager for Laborers’ Local #295, and I still hold an active membership today. As Chair of the Utah Democratic Party, I am proud that our staff has unionized, providing both ongoing protections for our committed employees and showing that Democrats don’t just talk the talk; we will walk the walk.
Goals
I have long identified as both a committed Union member and a proud Democrat. The Democratic Party has always been the party of working people, fighting side by side with our Union partners for good wages, benefits, and better working conditions.
In my experience, I have learned that there are no silver bullets, and real change only happens after you do the long, complex, and deep organizing work. Here at the Utah Democratic Party, our team has spent the last 18 months starting that process, and I know we’re on the verge of big things for 2024 and beyond.

Helping County Parties
As your chair, I will continue to travel the state to support our county leaders as we build the Democratic Party on the county level.
Building the Labor Party Relationship
With my experience in labor, I will continue to recruit more labor friendly candidates and strengthen the relationship between unions and the Utah Democratic Party.
Candidate Recruitment
Candidate recruitment is a year-round project. Under my watch, the party will continue to recruit and develop candidates for all races and for races far into the future.
Over the last 30 years, Republicans have gerrymandered Democrats out of 3-7 seats each cycle.
